About the Author
Steve Zimmerman is the principal of Spectrum Nonprofit Services based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he provides training and consulting in the areas of finance and strategy for community-based organizations, foundations, and government agencies throughout the country. He is the coauthor of Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability. Prior to Spectrum, he was projects director with CompassPoint Nonprofit Services. He is a Certified Public Accountant and earned a BA from Claremont McKenna College and an MBA from Yale University.
Jeanne Bell, MNA, is the CEO at CompassPoint—a national nonprofit leadership and strategy practice based in Oakland, CA. She is the coauthor of Nonprofit Sustainability: Making Strategic Decisions for Financial Viability (Jossey-Bass) and Financial Leadership: Guiding Your Organization to Long-term Success (Turner). She is a speaker and consultant and co-leads a number of national research projects, including UnderDeveloped: A National Study of the Challenges Facing Nonprofit Fundraising and Daring to Lead 2011: A National Study of Nonprofit Executive Leadership.
